Well, here is the site I've been working on non-stop the past few days:

www.netgore.com

There is still some polishing to do, but let me know what you think as far as usability, navigation, and features go. I probably won't do much with the actual theme (just using the default Drupal theme) just since this is "good enough" for starters, but I want to make sure I have most all the features I need from the start.

Before you mention anything, here is my little "to do" list:

Code:
- Have the forum topic summary display on mouse roll-over instead of inline
- TOC for wiki pages
- Better support for editing your own initial post without giving users admin-related abilities
- Remove the extra "Reply" links on each forum post
- Have the reply page show all posts instead of just the first one
- Support for advanced searching/filtering on users based on their Recruitment fields
- Remove "previous"/"next" links in the wiki pages

Thanks! :)

As far as graphics go, awesome. The middle layout is nice, the top menu is cool too.

However the left menu needs a bit of fixing. Not a fan of bare menu backgrounds. I would probably put that alpha trans background which is in the middle, and use it for the left menu as well, maybe a little more transparent and a different greyer colour.

I'm not too keen on the blue theme either. Maybe if it was an office application.

Apart from that, it probably needs a bit more content before i can say anything else.

Make it easier to download too, just put a big fat icon on the front, one click download or something :P

You're off to a good start though. Its nice.

I like it, simple but effective :)

Not to sound like a sheep or anything, but i agree with Bake. The left menu could do with some work.

I'm sure once you get your "to-do" list, it'll be awesome :)

Seems to be pretty usable, I don't really like the theme though, and the forums look kinda strange, but I guess that's not too important ^^

Seems to work nicely, I like the nav at the top. Hope to see some more content on it soon, keep up the awesome work :D

Yeah, the forums do look a little strange, but it took so much work to get it to look even "that" much like a normal forum. :P

Good point about the download link, Bake. I'll definitely do that. I think I might also add a "random image" table on the left. I wanted to have the download and screenshots very prominent since I know that if people check out the site without knowing much what it is about, they might leave in just a few seconds if they can't find anything "interesting".

There's a module (http://drupal.org/project/tableofcontents) for that, I haven't tried it out but it looks like it's exactly what you want :)

I like this so far, I've checked out Drupal and it looks pretty neat. There are a lot of themes, some of them more easily customizable than others, so once the technical side of things has been taken care of it shouldn't be too difficult to jazz it up a little :P

Maybe we could get lawzile to make a netgore banner

I've seen that module, but it didn't work out too well for me. I'll probably end up using it but tweaking the hell out of it, like I had to do for many of the modules.

If you want to. Since NetGore is actively being developed and vbGORE is not, I would "prefer" that random posts (i.e. stuff not related to vbGORE or VB6) to be there. Would help give the site a little booster, and would be better in the long run since activity there will hopefully exceed activity here within the next few months.

But I do want to make it clear, vbGORE will not be shutting down! I will keep this site up at least for another year or two. All it is costing me is the domain name, which is cheap enough. If I do want to shut down the site, it'll probably actually be moved to a sub-domain at NetGore or something, just so I can free the domain name but keep the site up.
