I like Guild wars "Death penalty", when you die you lose 15% of you max health and max MP, then when you die again its 30% etc (it stops at 60%) i think this is good because eventually ur stats are probaly too low to use ur skill combos and ur health isnt highenough to survive :)

In Deadfrontier, the death penalty is that you lose all money you had on you and 1/3 of the experience you have for that level. as well as you have to wait between 2 and 20 minutes before you can respawn(depending on level).

That's a way too big penality for death. Of course, players would be afraid to die but in the same time, it makes game silly. But people have different opinion so you can't get final solution that will fit for everyone

20 second respawn is enough in my opinion, otherwise people will become less adventurous to try out attacking monsters of high level. Thats Maplestory's biggest flaw, that you lose 10% exp when you die. No one bothers attacking high level NPC's because its much safer to grind on lower levels. Then you get Zakum party quests with like 4 clerics and barely any attackers, it ends up being a 4 hour grind and being constantly blocked.

I like the losing money idea, kinda justifies calling banks banks..it'd also be a sort of harsh but not too harsh way of punishing death, making players scared of it.

Oh yeh losing money/items is ok if you have banks. But you can't bank EXP so losing it is annoying.

I realize that 10% and 100% have morphed into the same thing. I'll get my twilight zone playlist

10,223,168 exp points is required to get to level 100.

Seeing as a shark which has 56,000 hp gives 3000 exp, and 10% of 10,223,168 is 102,231 exp. ITS QUITE ALOT!

Is that 10,223,168exp needed on top of the exp already gained getting to level 99? Or is that 10,223,168exp in total, gained since level 1?

If it's the second one you're doing it wrong =]
