Ok I read all of those tutorials on VB6 but I still have no idea how any of them apply to vbGORE. I was able to understand MySQL a bit but I still don't understand how that connects to vbGORE as well or VB6 in general. Basically, I want a tutorial on VB6 that was made for making game engines because I think the problem is that the tutorials are too general. Thanks for any help you can provide me. :D

Reading tutorials can't teach your VB.

Sure, it can teach you certain things, but you need to understand the tutorial and be able to adapt it to the situation.

I would say, now you read some tutorials you should have a basic understanding of vb.
If you do, actually start coding/changing small things in the engine, adding heath bars, stuff like that, then, slowly move on to bigger things.

That probbaly didn't come out right, and thats just my opinion, but there you go :D

Someone else will probbaly just prove me wrong or something ;)

If your dedicated, i can suggest the following.

get some books on VB6. read them like crazy,

suggested books:

Visual Basic 6 Black Book: Excellent book , over 2 mill copies sold ;)
Visual Basic Game Programming For Teens: A bit difficult, but fun.
Teach YourSelf Vb6 in 24 Hours: - Good for newbies, lame after you know it :P

learn the following,

play around with the IDE learn where everything is etc...
Functions
Subs
Variables
Input & output
logic statments - IF THEN etc...
loops

and another great resource which i learned good off of.

www.planetsourcecode.com or www.pscode.com

Well I was thinking since it's going to be difficult for me to ask you to program everything I should learn to code as well. However, I've been able to only do things that were mentioned in the vbGORE tutorials. But when I try to do stuff on my own it doesn't work out.

@Spodi-I am a donator and I completely forgot about those vb6 tutorial vids. I'll check those out. But do they really help with vbGORE?

@Codeseeker-I have no way to obtain books because there aren't any local bookstores that I can get those at.

The better you are at VB, the more you can do to vbGORE easier, so yes, any programming knowledge even of different languages is going to help.

they're helpful, but I still haven't been able to apply any of it to vbGORE. I'm only on the 4th video though so that's probably why.
