The object, NPC, quest, mail, and user account editing is all done and stored via MySQL. Connect to your MySQL account with a MySQL GUI (ie SQLyog) and look at the tables. Each column has info on what it is under the comments section.

Hi, sorry I meant there's no 'objects' button in the editor. I can see how to create and set object attributes in mysql, but I can't find any way to place them in the game.

I can place npc's ok but I just can't find any way to place objects, or do you have to type the coordinates into sqlyog.

thanks

Setting objects directly on maps was removed because if you put them on the maps, they would sit there until someone grabs them then never come back. They would also respawn every time the map is reloaded (when a user leaves the map and goes back to it), so people could just get an infinite supply of items. :P

Or I guess it could be scripted that when a player talks to an NPC it gives the player an item or money or something, like a quest that doesn't require anything to be done.

Though if you wanted items dropped by players, I take it you'd have to save that info somewhere for when the map gets reloaded?

Oh, and money isn't how we refer to the currency around here. We refer to the currency as orc/gremlin/trolloc/green-thing heads. See the little thingy at the end of this passage for an example of the currency. :D
