Chilling at my cousins today making beats and saw that he still had this beat we did awhile back when he had just got his laptop and midi keyboard.

I layed the drums and the main melody, my cousin did the Intro, EQing and added all the additional sounds. Took us like 4 hours....almost 2 hours actually just listening to all the Windows sounds

lol it was a good idea, but theres no rhythm. The fact that anyone who actually listens to music could have done much better, leads me to believe that you just did this for gags and didn't put in any effort towards musicality. Which is cool and i respect that.

Otherwise Pro Tip: Learn your basic 4/4's at the least. :)

Ok, next step is to go to library, turn up all the speakers to max, set the startup sound to this, then turn off all the computer. :)

I'm not sure what you mean, it is in 4/4 and it sticks to the timing throughout.

There's a definite beat to it :?

Well it was just for fun, doesn't mean we didn't put any effort into it..."anyone who actually listens to music could have done better" ok "Pro" I'm waiting for your masterpiece. 8) Musicality..wtf we weren't tryna make a Mozart piece, maybe your not accustomed to hearing a hip hop track but the dam thing is on point. I'd really love to hear something you've made since you can't hear any sort of rhythm in the beat :spin:

Haha ok man, i guess i just got a bit disappointed when i saw "Most Epic Hip Hop Nerd Beat" as the title. I was mostly being tongue in cheek (which is why i said pro tip), but when i look back on it i guess i was being a bit harsh.

But just hear me out for a sec k? you can't just lay down a rhythm and then randomly chuck other sounds over the top. The drums set the pattern of your song, whats the point in having drums if no-one or nothing else pays attention to it?

With your song, if you go 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 1 ( basic 4 / 4 ). For some reason your sounds will come something like 2/3 between "and - 2". There's no release on the 4th bar, or the 4th beat for that matter. The strobing aswell, should have been on the beat, but only the first was on beat, and then when it looped it was off beat. Also the sounds needed to be sped up or slowed down in order to match the timing of the hip hop beat you set up. This is called a train-wreck, where you mix two tracks together without them being in sync. This is also why i mentioned musicality.

Hmmm when i read it, i was actually considering trying it out, and perhaps i should to back up what i said. But i got over remixing stuff like 2 years ago, and ceebs looking for all my hardware. And yeh i do have a blackbelt jones remix somewhere but seeing as it was done 2 years ago, i don't think ill ever find it. :(
