We are basically after opinions on...

1. The new genre we are taking up,

2. Our new drummer,

and

3. Our new song

We are trying to cross the beats of a metal band and the power of a rock band together. So our firs goal was to write a song with Rock riffs and lyks but a metal Drum beat.

This lead us to our new song into this mix of genres "Outta your League"

We are currently writting the lyrics and are going to try to make them about chasing after goals you couldever hope to achieve in your lifetime... or something similar to that.

I do know the following:

-The song is a little repetitive... not only have i been told by a person who probably didn't read but i'm natually a rythmn guitarist so i have tried to keep that with some small soloish aspects that are ne to me.

- The Voluming may be off... but im too inside the making of the song to notice, that and while playing the damn thing can't hear well either xD

- We also aren't happy with the ending at the moment, but are currently working on it


Please review and give opinions... there's only one way we can get better beside practise. Thanks guys

It's pretty catchy, but it is really repetitive. It's also lacking a lot in any dynamic range.

A neat way to big up the guitars is to record the guitar line twice, pan one left and one right (about halfway, not full left/right) then copy and paste each track again, except add some reverb to the copies (both of which should be panned the same as the originals).

Also try panning the cymbal hits and the toms on the drums within the panning range of the guitars.

I would think about cutting the high frequencies on the guitar, and boost the low-mid (at least on the rhythm guitars).

I would also move the interlude so that it starts halway through the previous part, it's just too predictable a starting point for it.

This could end up sounding pretty nice though

Is that real guitar?

Cause it sounds like a midi with some fx on it or something...is it a drum machine too?

The repetitiveness won't be (some much of) an issue once you add lyrics with a good vocalist.

Been recording and writing music lately too

I really want to hear a rock vocalist on it,
one who can catch the crowd and go YEAH!
our lead vocalist can do that VERY good,
im the backing vocalist for shouts and ballads

and you need a real drummer to KICK ASS
like The Whos drummer

i say your idea isnt bad but go for rock drums and vocals (as both are EXTREMELY DYNAMIC)
and go for that metal take in the guitars,
although i personally just love hard dynamic rockn roll

well it was an extreme, but i hope he gets what i mean.
our current drummer (til end of august, then hes gone )
is a madman on drums, replaced with a drum machine our songs sound boring

Anything needs a Soprano singer in it!!!

singer will eventually be ont he track.. im trying to convince my girlfriend to do it... she has a great voice for rock but always sings ballads.

if i ever convince her we will see if a female voice can harness both the rock and metal elements of this song...

also kyori i am working on the guitars and progression of the song hence the no replying thing... the guitar was real in most places but some i couldnt quite get the lycks right so yes i did use a synthed one... same for the drums hats are synthed since when we had them live they left an aweful ringing and the snare is synthed since we lost it in places
