Wiki Question + Wiki Forum = Wiki Question in Wiki Forum

Oh ok fair enuf :P

Although wouldn't it be WikiForum / WikiQuestion = WikiQuestions in WikiForum?

Because WikiQuestion + WikiForum = WikiQuestionWikiForum

Where the fuck did you learn arithmetic?

WikiQuestion + WikiForum = WikiQuestion + WikiForum. You can't add those two, since they're different units.

Although, if "WikiQuestion" and "WikiForum" are actually the units, then the question is "1 WikiQuestion + 1 WikiForum = ?". Again, though, you can't add those.

However, if we're talking about:
1 WikiQuestion + 1 WikiQuestion/WikiForum
then the WikiQuestion units cancel and we're left with WikiForum. Therefore, the answer is 1 WikiForum.

Really, though, we need to form a common understanding of what these units represent before we can do any logical mathematical operation.

10 / 5 = 5's in 10 = 2

Therefore

WikiForum / WikiQuestion = WikiQuestions in WikiForum.

Next

"1 WikiQuestion + 1 WikiForum = ?". You are thinking in terms of algebra, this is because two joined variables mean multiplication not addition. However algebra ain't arithmetic.

If WikiQuestion and WikiForum are both words, you can add them together forming WikiQuestionWikiForum. This is why in programming, + can be used for concatenating strings using operator overloading or polymorphism.

If we're being technical, Wiki Forum is a topic list and Wiki Question a topic. Wiki Forum + Wiki Question gives you Wiki Question in Wiki Forum (you add the topic into the topic list - obviously not actual syntax).

eep!

Split to preserve the IMPORTANT DEBATE, and so the original topic wasn't so cluttered.

You're impressed? I'm impressed? Kyori is not impressed? I'm dying of offtopicicity?

Add in this case is a function though not an arithmetic add. Therefore its Wiki Forum add Wiki Question, however in declarative programming such as SQL this is known as an Insert. Using + for insert would be bad syntactic sugar if anything, so its a general assumption not a technical one.

So if we are being technical i was right in the first place. :P

Wiki Forum / Wiki Question = WikiQuestions in WikiForum.
Wiki Forum / Wiki Question != Wiki Questions in Wiki Forum

Since Wiki would cancel each other out therefor your left with Forum / Question which can not be solved.

Your wrong. Anything / Something = Somethings in Anything

Its called a fraction.

10 / 3 cannot be written as a decimal. Therefore you leave it as 10 / 3 (3's in 10).

Therefore you would just have Forum / Questions (Questions in Forum).

However that's assuming that Wiki is cancelled out because space divides two words. However if your logic were correct then it would be safe to assume that

(3 + 9) / (3 + 6) = 9 / 6.

Which is also wrong.

I assumed that he meant Wiki Forum was Wiki*Forum, so it would be (Wiki * Forum) / (Wiki * Question); a better analogy would be (3 * 9) / (3 * 6) = 3/3 * 9/6.

I don't see how (3 + 9) / (3 + 6) = 9 / 6 comes into it.
