Does the client run fine for you? Does the default download with no changes made work?

Very strange... the client and map editor both use the exact same rendering code almost line-for-line, so it should work fine in the map editor if the client works. :?

Just when i thought things couldnt get anyworse it seems the editermap.exe is corrupt and unreadable. Windows - Corrupt File.

When i tryed to launch client it said My client was not up to date with the server please hit update or somthing like that :P

Redownload the map editor, or complie it from the source, and reboot the server.

Not sure why the file turned up corrupt, but the "Update" thing will appear if you edit maps while the server is running. You have to reset the server for any map, object, NPC or quest changes to be applied.

Maybe try changing your desktop pixel depth from 32 to 16 bit, or vise versa.
