i was out for a couple days and this is what happened?

here's my offer:

Ok, first of all, i came up with the idea

and two, i have a management position in my computer store job ^_^

so, i can lead, and i am learning advanced VB, i am darn good at pixel art and otherwise

i have yet to really crack into vbgore, honestly, i always find it's a good idea to get a VERY SOLID foundation on the language first.

So all in all, i can help orgaize.

So, striderago, what do you mean about "Steam"? Half-life 2 steam? like, wtf there?

and you all are RIGHT, let's not stray very far at all from the core vbgore engine.

shooter is way out obviously.

(edit: didnt mean to repeat this at end of my last thread)

(edit edit: my idea is that i am just a people manager, not a foreman or operations manager like strider appears to be skilled at)

okay... youre not even 18, you have a 'management position' in your job, that makes you think you can lead.
okay, no offense, i dont know how to say it so you dont get it wrong (my english is not so good :D).
but its like this: im a groupleader at the german red cross, ive took part in serval workshops how to lead grops in general (styles of leading, conflict resolution, etc) and how to lead an group in emergency management.
i wouldnt call myself a good leader. no, im quite a bad leader. i just dont have enough experience with leading, even though im over 1 jear in this position.
maybe youre talented, but when leading a group of pepole theres much more needed then talent. and i dont think you can have so much experience with leading that you can say you can lead.
go ahead, take the position, i dont say anything against it. you will learn and thats good.

ok guys lets not use this forum to talk about our leadership skills. This is about the project, not about who is in charge. btw I don't consiter myself "Leader" of this project, we're all working as a team TOGETHER. I just stood up and said what I think should be done.

As for "steam" I wish you quoted what I said... steampunk is the genre that I suggested as our theme. Ace has been working good and hard at coming up with a general MMO storyline, and has been doing pretty good. It also could have been my game title "Swords and Steam" because it takes place inside of a Steampunk setting (seeing a pattern in my taste? :p)

Edit: But heck if someone else wants to take over what I've done and wants to be "in charge" I don't care, gives me more time to work on something else.

well here's the thing, we don't need 'people management'. they way these types of things work is that there's no one person or group assigned to a specific job. basically everyone and anyone pitches in what they can. the only type of management needed is someone to keep all the changes that are made organized.

I dont understand why theres a leader in the first place for a COMMUNITY EFFORT.

Of course there is someone who is going to be calling the shots and organising the resources - but, this isn't an autocratic management style (Something I like to use :P)

Anyways.... Hi

people management implies a chain of command... We're all equal on this project.

I agree with striderago,

human_after_all , two words: fuck you,

if you where the leader , i'd assume by the way your message was written, you'd take the credit of all the hard work we'd put in the project.

now , remember these two words: Community Project, that means everyone is participating in the project, and everyone is getting an equal amount of respect here. If anything i have more respect for striderago, since he knows more about RPG Development and the visual basic 6 language than you do, If this where leader based, i'd vote for striderago , speaking he does have 10 Years Game Development Experience , and probably knows a game inside and out and what it needs , to attract a large audience to VbGORE.

Sorry Human_After_All if i seem very resistile to your post, but this is a community project, and everyone should have a say in this.
