My post was misunderstood of what it was meant to be,

so, your right. fuck me.

But from my experience, a project with no form of leadership, poor leadership, or a mutinous position will slowly die. Seen it happen. Some of you have too. A good example of this is Elysium... while not dead, the points where it had divided, weak, or no leadership caused a collapse. They haven't come out with a new version in what, a year? Sandopan knows what i'm talking about.

I will quietly put in my two cents and hopefully there wont be any more abraisive anger.

no apology needed, everyone has different views on how something should be run which is where the real problem usually emerges. i few different projects might be a better solution so people will have a choice to work on what best fits their view. for every example of something that failed because of no 1 central leader there's examples of plenty that are extremely successful with a free for all group mentality.
elysium may have failed for that reason, but look at things like the linux kernel. linus has the finally say in what goes into it, but there's no one assigned to do anything specific. everyone submits what they feel would be of use and the community decides if it's worth adding. same thing with plenty of other open source projects. apache, fedora, centOS, etc all follow that development model and are some of the most successful independent projects in existence.

It should be someone who is very familiar with vbGore and has been around for a while. they don't need to have the most skill with programming, just an understanding of how it works and is well known in the community

well then we can put that on hold for a while. Can a mod or admin please delete my other "critically acclaimed" posts? They are useless and make this forum look less happy >_>

why delete them? a little early strife followed by everyone working together is a good thing.
as for a 'leader' the only people that fit that description i think are spodi, nex, and seph. none of whom really have the time to commit to anything. so for the time being why not just go the democratic route? everything gets posted here and as long as there's no valid arguments against it, it goes in.

lol
what do guys think of me as leader? I've been around since vbGORE first started and although I may not be a good programmer I am really good at leading. Also, I know my way around vbGORE.

Why not make an SVN folder where everyone uploads his version there? Not much management would be needed. And decisions are made by votes. No leadership, no greedy Stalin-like dude screwing things up.

thats what i said, i suggested setting up either a cvs or a php system to manage uploads and track changes. everyone doing what they can and uploading their own changes with open discussion on what should be changed would be the best idea in my opinion.

I have an even better idea. How about we use the vbGORE wiki? That way we don't have to make it a completely seperate project. From there we can put multiple links for each job and the latest releases/changes.
