I'm not able to make my own wiki page

Every time I try to add a wiki page, I get this error

Fatal error: Call to undefined method User::getEditCount() in /home/nex666/public_html/vbgore/extensions/SpamBlacklist/SpamBlacklist_body.php on line 186

I'm assuming this is a temporary spam block? I didn't test if it was my IP or not, but I know it's not just my login name because I created a new account just to make sure.

What's going on?

I was working on a little mod for the SpamBlacklist to allow certain types of users to bypass the blacklist, but no idea why the hell that error is coming up.

Does it happen for anyone else?

Alright, problem fixed. Turns out older versions of MediaWiki don't have User->getEditCount(). I was using new documentation for old code.

Hm, how difficult would it be to upgrade the wiki to a newer version?

Just certain code copied from wikipedia doesn't work on the vbgore wiki and I was wondering if this was to do with it being out of date.

Could be moderately difficult - not sure how good the reverse compatibility is for MediaWiki (though I assume it is pretty great). The problem is that I have a few extensions installed, namely the code syntax highlighter.

A lot of Wikipedia stuff won't work directly since they have a lot of extensions installed, too. And I mean a lot.
