Heres is what happened.
I was torrenting lots of files yesterday. They were going at maybe 300KB/s. I went to my kitchen to get a drink and during that time a thunderstorm came. Also during that time the power went out for a split second. During that time one of my computers shut down. When i reset my modem and got my routers back online i turned my computers back on. On that was not browsing the internet turned on without problem. The other that was torrenting had a problem. It could not get an ipaddress from the router. Both computers are connected to the same router. So to get my computer online i had to use a cheap PCI ethernet card. Its realllllly Slow.

Any ideas on how i can fix my old ethernet card. btw its built in straight to the motherboard.

thats an odd problem. i get something similar with wireless adapters but thats because my router is about to shit the bed. first, when you first got the router did you change any setting on it? it's possible (but doubtful) that when the power blinked out it tripped a reset and reloaded all the default settings. if not, try restarting the router one more time. if still nothing, go into the network setting for your lan adaptor and try setting the ip, gateway and dns manually. if still nothing, you onboard ethernet might very well have blown. power surges can do strange shit to motherboards, i once had a short knock out the on board ps2 adapter while eerything else was left in tact.
since you can use a pci lan card, you may just want get a better one. they're damn cheep these days.

Well im going to a computer store on Aturday so i guess im kinda lucky im getting the card!

a 10/100 mb card will transfer information far faster than your ISP connection speeds. That is unless you're transferring shit from one computer to another.

I myself do a lot of transferring between computers. One comp with 3 HDDs that is always, dedicated downloading (torrents), media and storage machine along with shares an internet connection with my primary machine. The primary has a 10/100/100 while the media/storage has a 10/100, so they can only use a 100mbit speed, but I have to say, with all that I transfer, even that works fine. But decent high-rate LAN cards are cheap, so might as well spend the $10-20 if you're going to make use of it. Pretty much any home network that is used frequently can benefit.
