what will make my game unique compared to any game out there? probably nothing. what i think will attract players? here comes. (if i EVER find a programmer again.. even offering payment doesn't seemt to ring up people... :( )

- A freedom of design and character development.
- Player Factions that enhance both PvE and PvP
- Quest driven gameplay
- a player skill driven game, as opposed to item-grind driven.
- Real Time Combat.
- Extensive gathering and crafting system
- a few more... if i find a programmer :(

I support Notexistant :D It's just not good to give out all features of the game at once. There should be some presents for players ;)

this thread is not answerable xD
so many thing in plan that are not directly a different approach at the genre,
but rather an completely new approach on character dvelopment and crafting :P

telling people. i'm not telling you what the game is about, what you can do or even confirming any rumours - but i assure you, you'll all love it.

releasing info on faction enhance PvP and PvE gives the players something to speculate about and still leaves you room enough to come out and create so that the only enhancement factions give to pve is not interfering with pvp...

the choise is still yours but saying nothing is generaly not a good idea.

another good thing to keep in mind is that rare is the copy that is any better then the original. how many WoW clones do we have? is one even remotely interesting? let alone competition to wow?

ok main features:
quite detailed crafting recipe system.
we have "recipes" for each crftable item, example a silver sword.
lets say the recipe would be 7 units of steel and 20 units of silver.
if someone uses 6 units of steel and 18 units of silver, he CAN still make a (Bad statted) silver sword!
like that people can mess around looking for the perfect recipes.
we will only publish ~ 20% of the recipes, someday someone will find it out:
OMG THERE ARE MORE! :D
let the community try around and spam the forums about recipes :P

also were thinking of making "gathering raw materials" a little bit interactive :P

our main aim is though, and here I'm actually telling you what actually makes our game "UNIQUE"
is that the player doesnt only create a character, but also a class.
He gets a set of X skilltrees which he can combine as he wishes (where X will be at first a small number, later 20+)
He additinally gains the ability to form his dream character with stats, and the weapon he wields.
Each weapon will have a unique fighting style.
A Glaive for example will attack a small area of effect :P
also eventually have the weapons have special skills/wep type.

there, now u all know it :P
but i guess noone would even dare to take a step to "balance" in such a game.
well, we're willing to give it at least 50 tries :P

OMG YOU STOLE MY IDEA! :wink:

now thats out of the way....

i'm doing something very much alike with laurantine cronicle. and it should not be to hard to balance it for PvE - PvP though his a whole other story. you might want to write different properties if the target is a other player... who knows. i dont realy care about PvP balance :P
