  • Guilds: A Guild or Clan feature has not been included as of the latest vbGORE engine release, due to the great diversity in ways it can be added to the engine. How a guild will be handled from game to game, is currently a decision that is left in the hands of the game developer.

Implementation of a guild can be useful tool for a programmer to develop teamwork and competition in the game. Traditionally guilds have been somewhat exclusive institutions, only including members of the same skill or trade. Many guilds held secretive rituals to solidify a spirit of brotherhood, (Freemasons are an example of this tradition in guilds). Modern games have moved the guild / clan structure in a more inclusive direction, membership can still be quite exclusive however experience tends to be the deciding factor, rather then job class, race or alignment.

The modern MORPG guild is generally ruled by one strong leader, who has amassed the respect and rares needed to guide the group. The ability to win in battle is key to maintaining a strong Guild.
